Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker and Beto O’Rourke are leading the pack – at least in terms of positive coverage by the media. That’s according to our latest sentiment analysis. But as part of our Storybench 2020 Election Coverage Tracker project, we also wanted to dig into the amount of coverage the major Democratic candidates are receiving as well as attention through Google searches.

Inspired by Election DataBot, ProPublica and Google’s interactive exploration of voters and candidates in the 2016 midterms, we built a dynamic interface using R Shiny for exploring candidate tweets, Google searches and mainstream media attention.
